As a GP for over a decade, listening to people and their stories is a great inspiration and an enormous privilege. My role is to make you feel heard, understood and to hold space for you as you navigate the challenges that life brings. I do this gently and always respectfully.

What makes me different from a clinical psychologist is the experience that I have working as a GP for over a decade. I understand the complexity of the bio-psycho-social model of care; this refers to the interplay between biological factors, psychological factors and social factors and I understand how essential it is to address all three in the delivery of whole-person care.

Part of my role is being able to liaise closely with your own GP and to be part of your collaborative team of doctors and health professionals who may be caring for you.

Professional qualifications

I have been a GP working in clinical practice for over 10 years. During this time, much of my work with patients has involved counselling and psychological support. I have done Level 2 Mental Health Skills Training in Focussed Psychological Strategies with the RACGP.

I have a special interest in the mental health of teenagers and feel passionate about supporting young adults.

I am a member of both the RACGP and the Australian Society For Psychological Medicine (ASPM), which is an organisation that aims to educate, connect and advocate for medical practitioners who do the complex work of caring for the whole person.
